Friday, March 12, 4th grade is going on a Virtual Field Trip. We will be turning our classroom into a theater to watch a presentation of Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad. It will be a great time for all. Next week is Plato St. Pete's International Week of Happiness. We will have activities each day to celebrate happiness. Friday, March 12th we want to celebrate happiness as a school by wearing the colors of the rainbow! Each grade had been assigned a color. Fourth Grade was assigned PURPLE! Please have your student wear that color with uniform bottoms. Please ask your students if there are any supplies they are needing for school. As the year goes on, many students are running low on pencils, colored pencils, and dry erase markers. Headphones are also necessary for all students in our class and in Music class, but have been broken or lost. Please make sure your child has what they need for school. Due to Covid restrictions, students are not allowed to share belongings and should have their own supplies. If your family is in need of assistance, let me know and I will help find a solution. Reminder, if your child is absent make sure you report the absence to me and Ms. Johnson ([email protected]), as every absence has to be coded in our system. I know this past week was not what we expected and hoped for, but I am so thankful I have such amazing families to partner with this year. I just want to apologize for having a few interruptions while teaching. With an almost two-year-old running around, though Isabel LOVED seeing all your kids in our live sessions teaching from home proved to be a challenge. I am SOOOO ready to be back brick and mortar on Monday! I want to assure you, I have been tested for Covid and it has come back negative. I can’t wait to see your kids in person and get back to our normal routine. By the end of the day today, emails will be sent to each student with a list of missing assignments. Please, make sure your child checks their Plato email and any missing work from this week gets completed by Friday 2/5. Reminder: We will be beginning our next novel study this Monday, February 1st. Students will need to bring their copy of The Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library (Book 1) by Chris Grabenstein. Please, make sure your student has their book THIS Monday, February 1st. As you may have noticed, we have a new behavior system that started this week. Students are able to move up and down on a behavior chart in the classroom depending on their actions. Wherever the magnet is at the end of the day gets recorded on a log and correlates to points for our classroom store. Any student who has moved up off the chart also gets a prize from our treasure box. This log is to be signed nightly by a parent or guardian. It is the student's responsibility to bring you the log to sign each night. When students come into the classroom with a signed log, they get to move up on our chart first thing! After the log is completed, we will reflect on our behavior and set a goal for the next chart. So far, students are enjoying the new system and really committing to classroom expectations. Supplies: Our class is in need of small prizes to be used as treasure box items, we are running through treasure box items much faster with our new behavior plan. Thank you to all who have sent in paper and markers this past week, it is greatly appreciated. We will be beginning our next novel study Monday, February 1st. Students will need to bring their copy of The Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library (Book 1) by Chris Grabenstein. Please make sure your student has their book on or before February 1st. Don't Forget! School is closed for students and staff on Monday, January 18th and for students Tuesday, January 19th. Classes will resume January 20th for the start of the new grading period.
