Happy Friday Families,
I am so excited to be coming back Monday! I have been missing your children so much while I have been quarantined (and going a little stir crazy). I hope they are prepared for a lot of holiday cheer! This week will be wrapping up many units as we prepare for the winter break. Please take the time to look over the attached study guides. Remember: Holiday Spirit week is this week! Thank you so much for your well wishes as I am at home for a while. We are all feeling fine and in good spirits while we wait for our test results. Isabel (21 months) seems to like the cuddle time, even if her baby doll keeps getting woken up by my husband taking calls for work. I am so thankful to have such a wonderful substitute, Mrs. Dresselhaus, to step in while I am not able to come in to work. Your students are in AMAZING hands. I will still be grading and providing feedback on work digitally while I am home. Students grades will be updated in Focus weekly. Please make sure you are checking your students grades regularly. Students are able to complete any work at home and turn it in for full credit the very next day. Students are able to complete any assignment for half credit for a week after it is due. After a week, assignments will not be accepted. Many students are missing work, notes have been placed on missing assignments on Focus. While I am away, there will be a few changes to our weekly activities. Students will not be having weekly spelling tests, those will resume after the winter holidays. Students will also not be receiving a homework packet, as they have their City project to work on. December 8th students will be taking the Plato Mock Writing FSA. This is an activity that will show me the strengths and weaknesses in their writing, allowing me to gear plans toward strengthening student weaknesses. It also shows students what it is going to be like during the writing FSA, this is especially imperative since students did take any FSA last year. Please make sure your student arrives on time and prepared mentally for this activity. What will my student be learning next week? Math:
